Scottish actor DEREK RIDDELL has appeared in some of the most exciting films and TV series of the past decade.
He can currently be seen as King James I in the critically acclaimed GUNPOWDER on BBC One, opposite Kit Harrington and Tom Cullen. The series, which tells the story of Guy Fawkes’ plan to blow up the House of Lords and kill the King in the early 17th century, has been recently acquired by HBO and will be released on the 18th of December in the US.
In early 2018, Derek will star alongside Jim Sturgess and Aygness Deyn in the new Hulu/BBC One drama HARD SUN, written by Neil Cross (LUTHER); and in ACTION TEAM, a brand new comedy for ITV written by and starring BAFTA Breakthrough Tom Davis and James De Frond, the duo behind the cult dark comedy MURDER IN SUCCESSVILLE. The six-part series is a spoof spy action-thriller following the exploits of a top-secret team of special agents working for the British government and charged with saving the world. It stars BAFTA winning actress Vicky McClure.
It was recently announced that Derek will be taking the role of ‘Torquil Travers’ in FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM 2, joining Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston and Dan Fogler in the highly-anticipated sequel of the Harry Potter franchise.
