Mesmering actress Elisa Lasowski has appeared in some really memorable independent and art house movies in her career. Earlier this year, Hyena came to cinemas which was a hard-hitting and utterly gripping film about sex trafficking, centred around Elisa’s character Ariana. Fast paced and very impressive, it also had sublime performances from MyAnna Buring, Richard Dormer and Stephen Graham. Other film and television credits include Shane Meadows’ brilliant picture Somers Town, Eastern Promises with Viggo Mortensen, Line of Duty, Game of Thrones, Skins and Keeping Rosy with Maxine Peake. Elisa also made an appearance in newly released Burnt, which boasts a starry cast including Alicia Vikander, Bradley Cooper, Siena Milller, Jamie Dornan, Emma Thompson, Uma Thurman, Lily James and Matthew Rhys.
Her biggest role is coming up with Versailles. It’s an epic ten parter from Canal Plus focusing on a part of French history around the reign of Louis XIV. She plays Marie-Therese, the Queen of France, an integral role to the story. It is being distributed worldwide and will air on BBC2 in the UK in 2016.
