FREDERICK SCHMIDT made his film debut to outstanding critical acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014 having been street cast for the feature SNOW IN PARADISE. The Guardian’s Xan Brooks singled him out for his ‘potent the volatile hero’ and The Hollywood Reporter’s David Rooney cited him as ‘a striking screen presence’, cutting ‘a charismatic presence’. The Times’ Kevin Maher goes even further, quoting ‘he captivates from opening to closing frames. A star, truly, is born’.

Frederick has completed filming four features, all due for release this year. In PATIENT ZERO, he plays a predatory ‘infected’ with Natalie Dormer, Stanley Tucci and Matt Smith and in BRIMSTONE he takes on the role of a corrupt sheriff opposite Guy Pearce, Kit Harrington, Carice Van Houten and Dakota Fanning. He recently completed work on a leading role in THE MARKER, a dark thriller of redemption, set for release in 2017. He is soon to begin filming on KALEIDOSCOPE, with Toby Jones, a psychological thriller about the destructive relationship between a middle-aged man and his mother.

For television, Frederick plays the role of Kryptonite-powered supervillain ‘Motello’ in the second season of SUPERGIRL starring Melissa Benoist for The CW Network.

Originally training as a Fine Artist Frederick was since cast as a tough prison warden in STARRED UP with Jack O'Connell. Shortly after he went on to work with Idris Elba on 'Second Coming’. He has also worked on several award winning shorts including SENKA, PIGCHILD and SLEEP.

Alongside his acting roles Frederick has featured in several high profile music videos for FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE and PALOMA FAITH and has he also headed the Ermenegildo Zegna Couture 2015 Spring/Summer campaign.
