The multi award-winning and nominated EMILY BEECHAM, won the prestigious Palm d’Or Best Actress award at Cannes Film Festival, becoming the third British woman in the festival’s history to be recognised. Her film, the ”artfully unnerving, austerely hypnotic horror movie” (Variety) LITTLE JOE, was in competition. She stars in the film directed by Jessica Hausner alongside Ben Whishaw and it’s produced by the award-winning French/British company, Le Bureau.
Emily received critical acclaim for DAPHNE, an independent feature from The Bureau, which dominated film festivals and award ceremonies throughout 2017 and 2018. She is also known for the AMC series INTO THE BADLANDS voted one of ‘The Best TV Shows of 2017’ by Variety, where she plays the murderous martial artist, ‘The Widow’, and also as ‘Dierdre’ in the Coen brothers hit feature HAIL, CAESER.
Emily won Best Actress at the London Independent Film Festival for her portrayal of ‘Joanna’ in THE CALLING, the story of a university student who leaves her course to become a nun. As well as her memorable turn in Oscar nominated HAIL CAESAR, she also featured in 28 WEEKS LATER, with Rose Byrne, Idris Elba and Jeremy Renner.
For television, Emily has taken key roles in some of our best loved and most acclaimed dramas including the TESS OF THE D’URBERVILLES with Eddie Redmayne and Gemma Arterton, THE MUSKETEERS and THE VILLAGE for the BBC, Jimmy McGovern’s THE STREET with Jim Broadbent and Timothy Spall and UNFORGIVEN for ITV. New projects include BERLIN, I LOVE YOU, following the latest installment of the ‘Cities of Love’ anthology, and SULPHUR AND WHITE.
